The Executive Director (ED) will provide leadership for the SALUS Center and all programs and services it provides. The ED should embody anti-racism and the desire to address oppressive systems. As the main point person for the LGBTQIA+ community in Lansing, it is incredibly important that the ED understand bisexual and asexual erasure as well. The ED will work to develop innovative resources for the community. This position will build strategic partnerships throughout the Lansing community that strengthen the services SALUS Center can provide. The ED must fundraise and grant write when needed in order to continue building towards SALUS’s mission.The ED must supervise SALUS Center staff and will report to the Board of Directors.
Overall, the Executive Director will be responsible for creating an LGBTQIA+ community center that uplifts, celebrates, and serves LGBTQIA+ communities across Lansing and surrounding areas.
Identify funding and grant opportunities and work with the SALUS Center team and external partners to apply. For existing grant awards, maintain diligent records and complete timely reporting as required by each grant.
Build and maintain relationships with donors (individual, corporate, and governmental)
Manage quarterly, annual, and project budgets and adhere to local and federal tax requirements
Outreach and Community Partnerships:
Schedule and attend meetings with community businesses and organizations
Respond to media inquiries
Respond to requests for training for private organizations about LGBTQIA+ topics
Collaborate on event production and design with community partners
Be a visible and active voice on issues pertaining to LGBTQIA+ equity and inclusion while representing the SALUS Center
